Synopsis:
To understand the majority of the book, knowledge of secondary level mathematics and biology is sufficient. Although, the content of the book is not limited just to the secondary level. In the efforts to build a deeper view of biology pivoting around Population Genetics and Game Theory, included here are a number of topics related to graduate and post-graduate studies. Rather than stockpiling a bunch of information, importance is given to create the right layout of the carefully chosen topics in order to achieve a comprehensive understanding of biology. It is not just mathematics for the sake of mathematics that is incorporated in the book, but as an unavoidable part of natural science where any attempt at formalization of any discipline warrants a logical framework of mathematical reasoning. For this reason, the whole book covers quite a number of mathematical models, theorems and formulae. A very dynamic science like biology cannot always be tied with the static black-and-white words printed in a book. So the use of computer programs and simulations spread across this book to aid the learning towards intended outcomes. Of course, the reader does not have to be a programmer to use them.
This book is not written keeping only the students of biological sciences in mind. Students of Computer Science and Mathematics will also find something useful in this book.
